My first pylon thread! Lets start off with some L6 goodness Then the othe way are some L3s which have an odd combination, they have 275kv insulators but strung for 132kv The 1st line which are L3s but halfway they change to L3C, They modified this line installing 8 L3C pylons The 2nd line which has 2 or 3 L3 pylons but turns to L66, the 3rd L3 could be a L3 D90 or L66 D90 those two last pylons are definately L3 Here Are Some L6 Galore! These 2 L6 lines are Both JLEve Type These 2 L6 Lines head to Ferrybridge Power Station L3DT and a modified L6DJT switching from triple wire bundle to quad wire bundle, most L3's are strung for 132kv around Leeds and Ferrybridge, Also the L6 Line has been restrung but has been left uneven! Here is a L3 D30 L3 D90 and L66 D30 Here Is a picture of the L66 route Any replies below and i will do more!

I thought those L6s were Balfour Beatty rather than JL Eve...

Ah Monk Fryston. The lines into the substation have been much modified over the years judging by the research I have been doing on the lines and circuits. For example both the ZP and ZDA L2 lines used to start here until they were truncated and removed when the newer L6 lines were put up in the late 60s early 70s. How is this known? Well heading east towards Keadby substation the ZDA line now starts at tower 64 where the 4VH line from Drax comes in then the ZZI from High Marnham comes in immediately after. After the ZDA line becomes ZZI the line used to continue in a westerly direction to Monk Fryston to terminate on the east side of the compound. Similarly the ZP line now starts at tower 44 where it meets the 4ZV line from Ferrybridge. Originally the ZP line continued east to Monk Fryston. There was another L2 or L3 line as well now long since gone replaced by the later L6 lines. Old OS maps come in handy for tracing these routes.
Cheers Paul
