Nice L2 pictures, sad that you couldn't capture the L3 Route XL and AG close-up. The wires on the right side of the PL4 look very new!

Nice L2 D40EW next to the L2 D30 in the photo of the route approaching Melksham. I reckon the YYM was originally the ZH route here and for some reason was recoded as YYM as the numbering of the ZH starts from tower 228 from Bramley heading east but the YYM is numbered 1-229.

Route ZH starts at Bramley, which is where YYM heads to the it heads to West Weybridge, They could both be the same route. I thought routes ZF & ZG were the same route at first.

Once upon a time, Route AG was entirely L3 pylons along the route, the L7 pylons replaced one half of route AG possible due to the cost of upkeep of L3 Pylons or complaints of the size. That is why the L3 D60 at Kingsdown is now being used as a D10, because originally, The L3 D60 was doing D60, the last L3 Pylons remaining are from Shaw to Kingsdown, there are 2 L3 pylons remaining at the Bath Sealing End.

The line changes to L7 at Kingsdown then come over the hill near Bathford, it changes back to L3 before entering Bath. A new L7 deviation was added to the line on the A4 near Bathford about two years ago, probably to raise the cables up a bit higher.
The line might have all been L3 at one time and they may have rerouted it with the L7 pylons.

Christopher Yes YYM from Melksham to Bramley is according to the data towers 1-229 but then ZH from Bramley to West Weybridge is towers 228 to 369. So something odd gone on there at some point. There is another oddball code change on the ZC line from Elstree as this starts at tower 1 and through Watford via 17+18 then to Iver at tower 59. The VW line still L2s starts at Iver on tower 1 through to Laleham tower 57 but then the ZC line resumes with tower 116A and runs through to West Weybridge again ending in tower 142. Cheers Paul
