Hi Folks Not posted for a while, hope everyone is good. While on my travels up the A9, I came across a few things of interest. Some new routes and unfortunately the demise of some older towers I was going north late on Monday evening, it was dark and raining, which is a shame as I went past a tower that was only half built. By the time I came back south 4 days later the tower was fully built, would of made a nice pic.. oh well. I took this as now doubt this will tower and route is next for the chop! flic.kr/p/nXPhSM End of the line, further along were towers with the conductors and insulators removed flic.kr/p/nFC89dThe new and the old flic.kr/p/nY1D51The new, are these L12?? flic.kr/p/nFCV4Dflic.kr/p/nY7th4flic.kr/p/nFCVmnflic.kr/p/nZTVT2flic.kr/p/nFCVEiFurther South I found this route flic.kr/p/nY7tUBCheers Mark

I sometimes drive up that way. Its been sad to see the old pylons being chopped down (literally!) and cut up. The pylons further south are the same line, the infamous Beauly to Denny power line via Tummel Bridge.

The new towers are L12s, think the old ones are PL1s.

Hi Chaps, These are if fact called SSE400 towers, a Balfour Beatty designed special duty tower suite for the Beauly-Denny project. zulumike

The new pylons are custom design, the old are Pirelli PL1a
