I am trying to post a photo via Flickr but Flickr gives no indication of what the URL is of individual photos, to enable that to be pasted into a message here. They seem to be more interested in turning themselves into a social media site. Can anyone help with identifying the url?
Thanks

Hi Northsouth, welcome to the PAS forum. I'm not on flickr myself but I am on photobucket, which might be similar in how you can obtain the url for either a direct link to the photo or to embed the photo in your posting. So for example if I wanted to put a link for a flickr photo then there is a share button, which you click on and this gives you a standard url like this using the Grab the Link option #http://www.flickr.com/photos/alastairwood/3539124164/# and to make that a proper active link in this forum you would use the Insert Hyperlink (globe with page icon on Post Message toolbar) to make it like this www.flickr.com/photos/alastairwood/3539124164/. Flickr also allows you to use a short version of the url #http://flic.kr/p/6oJWj9# flic.kr/p/6oJWj9If you change and use the Grab the HTML/BBCode option in Share you get two versions HTML one <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/alastairwood/3539124164/" title="Class 25: ICI Hoppers by Alastair Wood, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2026/3539124164_280691ed59.jpg" width="500" height="324" alt="Class 25: ICI Hoppers"></a> BBCode Class 25: ICI Hoppers by Alastair Wood, on Flickr Does that help you at all? Although actually I have just test previewed my message and the forum seems to recognise the url and automatically makes it an active link without having to use the Insert Hyperlink option. Hello It would appear Paul, that the flickr short version URL works but the full version does not? So I guess I'll be using the short version from now one. Got any sound samples of the that loverly 25??? Hmm two-stroke-diesil-tasstic 25s, 31s, 37s.. those were the days Mind you, saying that does give away how old I am LOL

Mmmmm a nice dirty rat rasping away to itself on the climb upto Peak Forest seen passing over Newtown Viaduct near New Mills, Derbys with a rake of my beloved ICI hopper wagons. Probably some youtube clips I guess somewhere. Although you can now buy sound fitted models with authentic diesel sounds and they do sound pretty good as well.
Cheers Paul
