The only example of a pylon route which changes from pylons to poles is on Anglesey where a route runs almost parallel to the south of the A5/A55. The pylons suddenly become poles at both ends of the route rather than having a terminal tower with the final towers being normal suspension towers.
I'd also always wodnered what the metal arm underneath the occasional tower is as well as you dos ee them very occasionally usually under towers carrying small voltages such as the towers in your pictures.
