Everyone -
Another day, another ship. This time no piccies of that but a few from around West / East Fife should keep everybody happy enough.

Starting at Inverkeithing and near the east coast railway line is a small substation with 132KV in and 33KV out.
A PL16 (Scottish) / 33KV to start the thing off.

Looking the other way are a couple of PL16DT in the substation.

The PL16 string feeding this has been caught before further up. For those who know this part of the world they follow the old Fife Coal Co. tramway.

The other side of the 33KV string (near the M90) has this PL16DT feeding a couple of poles. Town in background is Inverkeithing and the Forth Road Bridge is also in shot.

Moving on: near Thornton Yard (Kirkcaldy) is a small substation with a PL16DDT / ED51150, a PL16DT and a PL16D30. This is an ex mining region and the 66KV-system is also very much in evidence here with the same baby pylons as the NE, Yorkshire and Edinburgh.

Unknown PL1-ish pylon is the only one of its type in a string of PL16's.

METHIL NO MORE - East Fife Football Stadium isn't on the satnav. Being originally from Dunfermline I'm pleased with that

Not one of the SSEB's better ideas, building a power station that uses coal slurry. They raved on about this at the time and we in Fife had geography classes on it but by 1970 its goose was well and truly cooked with the death of the NCB Fife coalfields and the Wemyss coalfield system shortly afterwards. They're trying to preserve it as a monument to gross stupidity as it would pollute all over again if they flattened the thing. Methil Power Station was built in 1963 and had 2 x 30MW generating sets.

JLEve PL16DT90 / ED51151. The PL1b line terminates with this. On the other side of the road there's a PL1bS10 with considerable deviation in suspension insulators but you've got to be a goat to get to it!

From left to right. L6, PL16DT, Milliken PL1, poles, 'Buchanty Type' PL1D10 series D60 and a few more poles complete this electrical line up.
