Everybody -
As promised, here's some more from the twilight zone formerly known as Scottish Hydro (and their mystery pylons)
Close to Methven on the A85 is where these very American looking 'Buchanty - type' PL1D2/S2 series D60 cross the road. Photo was taken at 3 in the morning on the car roof using a mini - tripod.

These mysteries are the 132KV lines between Sloy & Carradale and there's no ID on them. Scottish & Southern aren't playing quoting 'sorry mate, national security' so anybody in here know? 2nd call.

Mystery Pylon D90
llandru.servehttp.com/Scotland290509/P5292081.jpg
These just 'appeared' by the road between Inverarary & Dalmally. Once again I don't have a clue on the pylon type, trying to locate them using side roads dre a blank so I just annoyed the busloads of tourists by stopping in awkward spots. Note no earth lead on these babies.
All 132KV. They're very slim...

Slap bang in the middle of Dalmally is this L2D60 / 275KV 3/TRAN/637 ED51182 all the angle towers were L2 in a sea of L8's.

Crianlarich is known as the Gateway to the Highlands and is popular with walkers, fishermen and such like. Pylon spotting can be added to the list with this chunky guest Buchanty - type modified Milliken PL1D2/S2 series D60 / 132KV in a string of Blaw Knox 51106 or 51172 (Scottish) PL16D2 or S2 STD to E30 enhancing the landscape near Crianlarich village.

llandru.servehttp.com/Scotland290509/P5292098.JPG
About the only ordinary looking PL16s on this string, the angle is a Blaw Knox PL16D10 / ED51112.

A mixture of suspension and deviation components appears to be the norm on this line.
(10-01-09 Note that the examples below have since been identified as the almost identical Blaw Knox "Scottish" PL16S2 E20 ED51172 or CEGB ref 3/TRAN/500A or 17/5789)

Been up there, done that, photographed PL16!

Blaw Knox PL16 (erm, Scottish!) ED51106 with 132KV on one side and 66KV on the other.
