Hello all, just got back from my hols in Turkey and though I'd share these photos of some of their pylons that I saw on my travels. I was staying in Side, which is on the Med coast near to Antalya and one of the organised coach trips from the hotel was a day trip to the pre-Roman and Roman ruins at Perge and Aspendos plus the waterfalls at Kurshnual. So I took the opportunity to take a few snaps from the coach window along the way plus a few from the ground near Perge.
Starting with the abundant street supply poles

These are everywhere in the populated areas!!
Then some low voltage circuits - not sure of exact voltage. Again common in populated areas even in streets!!
Abandoned pylon

Twin routes

Single route - note lack of earth peak wires

Deviation tower

Then onto the bigger stuff - from the Turkish Grid info and maps at www.geni.org/globalenergy/library/national_energy_grid/turkey/index.shtml these are 154kV and 380kV circuits
154kV and 380kV routes near to Perge (ancient monument)

i195.photobucket.com/albums/z231/paulsrailphotos/UK%20Pylons/Turkish%20Pylons/DSCF0607.jpg
i195.photobucket.com/albums/z231/paulsrailphotos/UK%20Pylons/Turkish%20Pylons/DSCF0638.jpg
i195.photobucket.com/albums/z231/paulsrailphotos/UK%20Pylons/Turkish%20Pylons/DSCF0639.jpg
On the way to the waterfalls and Aspendos (Roman theatre)
i195.photobucket.com/albums/z231/paulsrailphotos/UK%20Pylons/Turkish%20Pylons/DSCF0651.jpg
i195.photobucket.com/albums/z231/paulsrailphotos/UK%20Pylons/Turkish%20Pylons/DSCF0668.jpg
So a brief taster of the sort of pylons you might expect to see if you were in the Antalya region for a holiday.
Cheers Paul
