I haven't been on for a while, but was sorting through my emails (I don't do that very often either) when I came across one from photobucket stating that I couldn't use their services for third party hosting e.g. sharing on a forum unless I upgraded to the appropriate level. Basically they want $400 a year - I can't justify that kind of money so I'm going to have to sort myself out with another picture hosting website. This presumably means I'll have to go through my old posts replacing the links so I can only apologise in the meantime (assuming anyone wanted to see my pics anyway!).
I notice other people on here also use photobucket. Have you had the same thing? I tried to click on some links in other threads and they didn't work, but photobucket was still trying to get me to upgrade so it may just be that I was still logged in.

Hi Robin, yes I have a lot of my photos on photobucket but I am on an account that still lets me still post to third party sites like this one. However I have noticed that pb has gone downhill and the site is awful to navigate with too much clunky web scripting that more often or not fails to load the photo and those bloomin adverts get in the way as well. As I have a back up of all of my pylon images separate from the original camera image folders i have double back up and would never advocate putting your only copies on there and risk loosing them. I did a trial album on a new flickr account on some L4 towers around Northwich and I need to add some more and when time allows perhaps move them all off pb completely. Lots of disgruntled photo enthusiasts on the railway forums that I go on!

I may have to agree, I say that price is appalling I just can't afford it. Some people have even made complaints about it. I have decided to stop using Photobucket and use Flickr instead, I have used Flickr on my latest posts.
