Pylons in South Gloucestershire

A follow on from Iron Acton Substation. These of some of the pylons nearby.

Here's the L55 pylons from the substation on the B4427.

They go under the L6 pylons and head towards Bristol.

I've already talked about the line that changes from L2 to L8. Now I shall talk more about the L7 line.

The line ends as the L2 pylons pass under the L6 pylons.

The line starts again on the other side of the L6 pylons. Unless they might go underground.

The line contiunes with one more L7 deviation tower.

Next we have two L2 deviation towers. They change to holding one cable on each insulator, if you see in the second picture. What is the proper name for these pylons, is it tension tower or deviation tower?

The line then changes to another design. Are these PL16s?

It's a deviation tower if the route changes direction at that point and it's a tension tower if there is no change of route at that point.

The 2nd pic has the SWE take on the Blaw Knox PL16 - ED51101 in the tower bible. Nearest I can find to the deviation tower is the PL4 D60 - 51130 the bracing matches better than the PL16 D60.

The PL16 seems to come in a few variants - SWE (Blaw Knox), Scottish (Blaw Knox) and the BEA JL Eve (AKA L55)
