Hi guys, I am back after a break, I took some pictures when I went to Ironbridge Power Station. To start off, we have a PL16S Single Circuit. imgur.com/a/apbaK2 pylons in one picture, left is an L8 D60, right is an L8 D30. (Route ZN) imgur.com/a/1hlNoL8 D60 being used as a D30 on the other side. (Route ZN) imgur.com/a/MgahDHere is an L3 running on 132KV imgur.com/a/tM8LQOn the M6 Toll Motorway, I bagged an L2 D30 Pylon, this route looks like it was messed around during the construction of the M6 Toll. (Route ZN) imgur.com/a/Jio34L8 D60 crossing the M6 Toll (Route ZN) imgur.com/a/Loc9DSome L8 Goodness (Route ZN) imgur.com/a/0dvyOL7 D90 Crossing the Motorway. imgur.com/a/dWR2wL7 D10 before turning back to L3, this line was also messed around. imgur.com/a/shqPl L6 pylons approach the border of Lichfield and Birmingham. (Route 4YP) imgur.com/a/gWBugApproaching Drakelow substation from the A38 is a L2 Route. imgur.com/a/52kCfThe next L2 route also coming from Drakelow is near a warehouse recently built. imgur.com/a/bHjiyAnd to finish is a PL16 route running from Willington to Uttoxeter, The Willington Cooling Towers are still here But not the power station itself. I didn't get a picture of them. imgur.com/a/uXDiiThat's all folks.

Nice photos :-) That L8 in the second photo listed where the original L2 ZN line was altered to cross over the M6 and M6 toll area - the tower to the left looks rather heavy duty and looks to have square ended cross arms on both sides; the tower to the right is an L8 D30 for sure. Then in third photo that must be an L8 D60 as has pointed end cross arms on both sides, short on inside of turn, long on outer side. So what is that L8 in the second photo? It doesn't look to be like a DJT or DT tower as the square top peak is much smaller than this one from the towers I have seen. So could it be something else like a D90EW in a similar style to the L2 D40EW where both sides of the tower have identical square ended cross arms at the appropriate lengths as per the L8 range. I have been past this same spot a few times myself but never in a good position to get a decent photo of it ideally face on - will keep trying lol! Cheers and welcome Paul

yv47r The two L8 Pylons in the second picture are very close together, looks like the L2 Pylons used to just cross the M6 before the M6 toll was built, only a few L2's remain at the side of the M6 toll. The L3 Route was also altered with L7 Pylons to cross over the M6 toll, The L8 in the second picture is a D90 being used as D60. I think ZN starts near Rugeley, as L2 Pylons are common around there, all of the L2 routes at Rugeley carry 400KV, the L3's run on 132KV, no L6 pylons are around the area.

I managed to have a good look at the D90 it certainly looks unique as I can't say I have seen a L8 D90 before so will have to arrange a closer look at that one. There is an L8 DT in use as a D90 at Macclesfield on the ZEA tee. Yes the ZN line was diverted to accommodate the toll road. ZN starts further beyond at what used to be Drakelow power station but now just a substation from which 4 L2 lines (ZE,ZF,ZN,ZS)radiate plus 1 L6 line (4YP). Lots of pylon goodness around there! Cheers Paul
