Hi everyone, I decided to revisit one of my previous fieldtrips and I've taken some photos of L8 route VV to Iron Acton.
To start here's the L8 pylons on Beacon Lane, near Winterbourne

Next here's the PL16 pylons on Church Lane and those L9 pylons in route VV crossing the M4.

From the other side.

Making their way to Iron Acton
flic.kr/p/W9gJZs
flic.kr/p/Vv6geH
flic.kr/p/WJAsFP
flic.kr/p/W9gF9S
Here's the PL16 pylons on Perrinpit Road, they change to L7.
flic.kr/p/Vv6PDx
But first there's two guest L2 deviation towers in the line.
flic.kr/p/WJBdkT
There's something rather odd about this first one not only does it change from single to twin conductor cables but it has shorter insulators on one side.
flic.kr/p/WJBupM
flic.kr/p/WtzQbS
The pylon from the side.
flic.kr/p/WtzNTS
There's the second one catching up with the L8 pylons.
flic.kr/p/Vsq5ku
Heading down the road.
flic.kr/p/WJCahr
And here's the L8 pylons on Perrinpit Road.
flic.kr/p/W9iEv3
flic.kr/p/W9iY3N
flic.kr/p/Vv8CQz
flic.kr/p/WJCtcV
They change to L2 and head up to L6 route 4YX along with the L7 pylons.
flic.kr/p/WF2XDd
flic.kr/p/W9jaB9
flic.kr/p/WF2Vhu
The L2 pylons pass under the L6 pylons while the L7 pylons end.
flic.kr/p/Vsrnbm
flic.kr/p/Vsrkuq
But they start again on the other side of the L6 pylons and continue to Iron Acton.
flic.kr/p/Vv9yqv
flic.kr/p/Wx11An
Here's the L2 & L7 pylons on the B4059 near Latteridge.
flic.kr/p/VsrNwb
flic.kr/p/WF447A
flic.kr/p/WJEbQn
flic.kr/p/Wx1uyr
Heading to Iron Acton substation.
flic.kr/p/Vssq6s
And here's some terminal towers at the substation, they are the two in the middle.
flic.kr/p/WF4E63
Before I finish I'll show a few pictures of L3 route XW heading from the substation I did say in a previous thread that the route looks like it's strung for 275kV.
flic.kr/p/WF4R95
But I think the voltage might actually be 132, seeing as there are two suspension towers in the line with shorter insulators.
flic.kr/p/VvaUQB
flic.kr/p/WF51NW
The pylons heading off to Iron Acton.
flic.kr/p/WF5is7
Enjoy!
