Everyone - Pylons in movies needn't be in Among Giants. Here's some, from the 1966 movie, the Great St. Trinians Train Robbery. 576i so not very clear. Sorry Here's the chance to earn some pylonist kudos. +1 karma for the pylon type to ED 51XXX and it's common name. +1 karma for the location (no googling now) Pic 1. Pic2 the location is near Pic 1. Enjoy! Les

I think it was filmed on the Longmoor military railway. And the tower looks like a PL16 D2 but I'M can't remember if its ED 51101/6 or 7 ;-)

OK I've not been very fair these are DivX captures at 2mb of an original mpeg at 12 mb. It's a PL16D2 all right, and indeed it's the LMR (now long dead and dying in 1966) But... pausing original JPEG on an upscaled 720p hdtv shows no crossarm bracing and that understated earth peak... means only one type! I'm off to the Fens from tomorrow - back next week with some pics i hope
