Nice weird towers. Hmm that reminds me I must go and have a look at those PL16 towers around the old Agecroft power station and there are a few odd splitting towers the same as the one in the link. I think!

The dual circuit 132kv apparently spitting into 2 single circuits at right angles is a bit misleading. I'm fairly sure this is near Hallow, outside Worcester. The single circuit to the left is to Bishops Wood Grid (previously Stourport Power station?). It was one of two single circuits from there to Worcester (circuit to the right). The last two towers and the terminal tower for both circuits in Worcester are PL1 (?) dual circuit. At some point this circuit has been cut into and taken on a 50 mile round trip via Hereford, looking for all the world like a dual circuit 132kv line. There are lots of single circuit PL1s around Worcester including a circuit nearly to Malvern, that originally went to Gloucester.

There is a similar split circuit near Failsworth, Manchester, where Stalybridge to Whitegate (former Chadderton Power Station) single circuit 132kV line is tee'd into a double circuit line to where Stuart Street Power Station once was. The tee pylon is in someone's front garden, no less!
