My total stands at 61 - the latest two additiions being Llandudno Junction (nukber 60) and Holyhead was number 61.
When I mean been to I mean actually used the station for getting off or on a train.
My total does not include preserved railways and also does not include light railway schemes such as the Metros and trams nor the Underground.
So, as I say, my total is 61. Anyone care to work out their total?

I've got to over 70 stations. Over the years, I have Studied, lived and worked in Leeds, Birmingham, London and Manchester. I also used trains a lot when I worked on televsion outside broadcasts. These are all stations where I got on or off a train and don't include trams, tubes preserved etc.

I'll work mine out. I did start to work it out while I was having a lie in, but the reminiscing took me through past boyfriends etc. (Plymouth and Loughborough), the places I visited with a view to going to uni there, and so on. And then I fell asleep again Will have a ponder and post here. I'm curious now. I'll ask my husband for his, too! Shame you're not including the Underground as I used to do market research / mystery shopping, and so I have been between train and street at every single station, except T5 as it's too new. That really would have boosted my total!

Excluding London and Glasgow undergrounds, Manchester trams and various random preserved lines, I can get to about 70 doing a roughly chronological mental life history with visited stations. A more careful analysis may yield a few more. (In fact, I've thought of two more since starting to post this.) Some of mine no longer exist, such as Glasgow Buchanan Street and Fraserburgh, while at least one other, Minehead, is no longer a national rail station, but was when I used it.

Looks like we all seem to be in the 60-70 bracket of visited railway stations.
My 50th station, btw was Sowerby Bridge in West Yorkshire which isn't exactly the biggest station going and I got S Bridge by asking my friend to take me to S Bridge station instead of Halifax after visiting my friends for a night out so as to get a new station. I did the same with Burley Park in Leeds as the actual station stop would have been Headingley. Those are the only two stations I have added through enginuity so to speak.
However, back to S Bridge. It has the PL16 winged towers running parallel to the line and the station as the Pl16 route prepares to terminate on the hilltop above the railwasy tunnel which begins immediately beyond the station.

This will take some working out with a calculator and a map. I was hopping around so many stations when I was a driver, with many relief points and general signal stops etc. This includes many stations around London, south west and the Brighton line as I started my railway career down there before transferring to Immingham.

My count is now 66.
Anyone else added to their station count in recent times?

Err...7 that I can think of at the minute My Dad loves train journeys though, so when I was like five or six we'd get the train to different stations and back while mum slept in, I have no idea what stations though!

late reply... lol..... I estimate somewhere between 150 and 160, but I think my career might have helped with a few of those.
This is where I have actually stood on the platform to catch a train or get off a train and this total doesn't count light rail, trams, tubes or anything overseas.

Your total is definately the highest thus far Mikey - more than double the second highest total. My count is now at 69 - Chesterfield is the most recent addition as I had to change there to get back to Manchester after spending a weekend with a friend in the Midlands and it was visiting him which added three new stations to my count. I get the feeling from your posting two years ago that your total might be fairly substantial and may even exceed Mikey's number of visited stations. I'd imagine that the number has further increased since Feb 2009.
