Hi Les and welcome! Some of those have a large height extension, don't they? (I'm not sure WHY people like to throw shoes over wire. Ah well.) Just a quickie... those pictures are VERY big. Each one is too big to fit on my (large, wide) screen! So I hope you don't mind but I've changed the images to links so that people can load this thread more quickly. Hopefully people will be able to get you an ID for them! (Sorry, I don't normally mod postings, but those pictures were huge!) Thanks for joining us and sharing your photos. And if you fancy popping into the off topic board and introducing yourself, I'm sure you'll be made very welcome. Hope you enjoy the boards!

Changed each file to 600 x 800 (or 800 x 600) or thereabouts. Sorry!
Les

Great pictures, that first one is quite unusual!

I thought that as well. I can't ever recall seeing suspsension and deveation wiring on the same tower before.

Hi Les and welcome to the board.
I remember seeing those (but didn't have the sense to photograph them) when I was working on the visual and landscape assessment for Beinn an Tuirc windfarm.
IIRC they run from Sloy hydroelectric station, west of Loch Lomond, to Carradale substation a bit north of Cambeltown. I have no idea what tower series they are or when they were built, but they're the only towers I've ever seen with no earthwire.

Well if YOU don't know what series they are, what hope do we have for an ID! ;-)
